CHICAGO (November 14, 2007) – U.S. Soccer has announced the finalists for the 2007 “Best of U.S. Soccer” awards and voting for the 11 categories begins today on ussoccer.com.
The sixth annual series, presented by Soccer America, the No. 1 soccer magazine in the United States, gives fans the opportunity to make their selections for the best in soccer in the United States. Fans can vote once a day from now until Friday, Dec. 7, on ussoccer.com’s “Best of U.S. Soccer” blog page.
The 2007 “Best of U.S. Soccer” awards will be decided entirely by online fan votes submitted over the next three weeks, and the winners will be announced shortly after.
As with previous years, fans across the country were called on to nominate finalists for four of the 11 categories. During the past week, the most popular choices for Best Bar, Best Store, Best Soccer Blog and Best all_access Video awards became finalists.
With so many great goals this year by all of our national teams, for the first time ever the Best Goal category, presented by Sierra Mist, includes separate awards for the Men's and Women's national teams.
In addition to voting for the “Best of U.S. Soccer” awards, fans can will also have the chance to vote daily for the prestigious ussoccer.com Athlete of the Year awards, which will be announced later this week.
