BRADENTON, Fla. (December 7, 2007) – The U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team ‘91s topped Real Colorado, 1-0, at the Development Academy Nike Friendlies in Bradenton, Fla.

A goal from Eder Arreola broke the scoreless tie in the 26th minute, receiving a ball from Kofi Sarkodie, turning and carrying it to just outside the penalty area. Arreola then wound up and hit a shot to the far post that beat Real Colorado goalkeeper John Foley.

After a back and forth start to the game, the U.S. stepped up their attack in the final 20 minutes of the first half.

Real Colorado put the U.S. under pressure in the second half, but goalkeeper Samir Badr was up to the task, earning the shutout.

The international match of the day saw Russia defeat Turkey, 4-3, with Nurov Gregory scoring all four of Russia's goals in the first half. Berkin Aslan and Ali Cukador each tallied in the first half for Turkey, and Osckan Gokce add one in the 63rd minute but it wasn't enough to overpower the Russian side.

In other U.S. National Team action, the U.S. U-15 BNT White played to a scoreless draw with FC Portland, with goalkeeper Josh Kempin earning the shutout.

The U.S. Under-17 ‘92 Men’s National Team will face Brazil on Saturday, Dec. 8 for the fourth time in five years at the Development Academy Nike Friendlies. The match will be televised live on Fox Soccer Channel at 2:30 p.m. ET.

The U.S. has yet to win against Brazil in the marquee match of the four-day tournament, losing in 2003 and 2005 before earning a come-from-behind tie in 2006.

One of the most exciting matches of the day saw IMG Academy battle for a 2-1 win against Pateadores with a 90th minute goal. IMG started off the match with a quick goal from Luis Calzadilla in the fifth minute. Pateadores came back with a 27th-minute goal from Dersu Abolfathi. It was Bernardo Zamora who pulled out the heroics for IMG, finding the back of the net in the last minute of play.
