U.S. U-18 WNT Draws With France U-19s, 1-1, in La Manga, Spain   

LA MANGA, Spain (March 14, 2008) – The U.S. Under-18 Women’s National Team made tied 1-1 with the France U-19 Women’s National Team in its third and final match at the La Manga U-19 International Tournament. The draw gave the USA second place in the eight team tournament behind Italy’s U-19s, which won all three of their games in the other group. The USA was the only other team to go unbeaten.

The USA’s lone goal came from Laurie Nosbusch in the 39th minute, her third of the tournament, after she finished a free kick from Christine Nairn that had rebounded off the crossbar.

France had the run of play in the second half and got a deserved equalized in the 78th minute after Julie Machart won the ball off a U.S. defender.
