U.S. U-20 WNT Defeats Utah Spiders, 4-0, to Close Out High-Altitude Training Camp

The U.S. Under-20 Women's National Team defeated the Utah Spiders of the WPSL 4-0 in a match at Rice Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City as its week of high altitude training came to an end. U.S. head coach Tony DiCicco will now select 20 players from the 24 that were in training camp for the USA's roster for CONCACAF qualifying for the 2008 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup.

The USA got goals from four different players against the Spiders, including a third minute strike from Alex Morgan and three goals in the last half hour courtesy of Gina DiMartino, Kelley O'Hara and Jessica McDonald. The USA was training in Park City, Utah, which sits at about 7,000 feet, simulating the elevation the team will face at qualifying in Puebla, Mexico, where they will take on Trinidad & Tobago (June 18), Cuba (June 20) and Mexico (June 22) in Group A play. Group B features Canada, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Jamaica.

The all-important semifinals will be held on June 25 with the third-place match championship game taking place on June 28. The top three finishers in the tournament advance to the 2008 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup being held this fall in Chile.
