The U.S. Futsal Team split a pair of friendlies against Brazilian professional clubs, picking up a win against Quixeramobim, 3-2, before falling to Horizonte, 5-3.
The U.S. Fustal National Team is preparing to travel to Brazil in May as the team begins preparations for the CONCACAF Futsal Championship. The Futsal team, led by head coach Keith Tozer, will embark on a 10-day trip to South America where the squad will train and play multiple matches against Brazilian club teams. Prior to leaving the country, the team will meet up in Miami to conduct a three-day training camp.
Earlier this week the U.S. National Futsal Team was drawn into Group B of the 2008 CONCACAF Futsal Championship along with Costa Rica, Panama and Haiti. The tournament will take place June 3-8 at the Domo Polideportivo in Guatemala City, Guatemala. The top three teams will represent CONCACAF at the 2008 FIFA Fustal World Cup in Brazil from Sept. 30 until Oct. 19.
