• The starting lineup to face Colombia in the quarterfinal features six different players from the starting lineup for the group stage finale against Mexico with Naeher, Fox, Coffey, Horan and Rodman the five players remaining in the XI.
• The Starting XI to face Colombia averages 25.9 years of age and 58 caps per player.
• Eight players in this starting lineup played against Colombia during the October friendlies, including goal scorers Horan and Shaw. Davidson – who missed the October matches due to injury - and Nighswonger and Albert - who had yet to debut for the USA – are the only players that did not feature in those two games.
• Lindsey Horan makes her third consecutive start of the 2024 Concacaf W Gold Cup as she captains the U.S. for the 21^st time in her career. Horan, who will earn her 142^nd cap, scored a brilliant volley in the USA’s Oct. 29 win over Colombia and also scored against Colombia in January 2021.
• Alyssa Naeher will earn her 100^th cap for the USWNT, joining Hope Solo and Briana Scurry as the only goalkeepers in USWNT history to reach the 100-cap milestone, making the U.S. first country in history to have three female goalkeepers with 100+ caps. Naeher will become the 42^nd player all-time in USWNT history to reach the 100-cap milestone and the first to do so since Horan hit the century mark during the delayed 2021 Olympics.
• A two-time FIFA Women's World Cup champion, Naeher debuted for the USWNT in December of 2014 and became a consistent starter following the 2016 Olympics. Naeher is, and has been for a while, the goalkeeper with the third-most caps, wins (80) and shutouts (60) in U.S. history.
• Defender and Huntington Beach native Jenna Nighswonger will make her second start of the W Gold Cup and the third of her career as she earns her fifth cap for the USWNT. Nighswonger started and scored in the USA’s opening match of the Gold Cup against the Dominican Republic and came on as a substitute in the Feb. 23 win over Argentina, earning the penalty kick that led to the USA’s fourth and final goal.
• Reigning U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year Naomi Girma makes her second start – and second appearance overall – of the 2024 Concacaf W Gold Cup as she earns her 28^th cap. Girma went the distance in the USA’s Feb. 23 shutout victory over Argentina and started both matches against Colombia during the October 2023 friendlies.
• Alex Morgan makes her second start and fourth appearance overall of the Concacaf W Gold Cup as she earns her 219^th cap for the USWNT. Morgan tallied an assist against Colombia during the 2012 Olympics and scored the game-winning goal in the Round of 16 meeting between the teams at the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup. Overall, Morgan has 16 goals in 27 career appearances for the U.S. in knockout round matches of competitive tournaments, tied with Carli Lloyd for the second-most in USWNT history behind Abby Wambach’s 19 such goals.
• Nineteen-year-old Jaedyn Shaw will make her second start of the Concacaf W Gold Cup and the third of her young career as she earns her eighth cap. Shaw made her international debut on Oct. 26, 2023, against Colombia and scored her first international goal three days later in the USA’s Oct. 29 win over Colombia in San Diego.
• Shaw has scored in each of her previous two starts for the USWNT – the Dec. 5, 2023 win over China PR in Frisco, Texas and the Feb. 23 Gold Cup match against Argentina, in which she netted a brace. Shaw is just the seventh player to score in each of her first two starts for the USWNT, joining Michelle Akers, Shannon Boxx, Danielle Fotopoulos, Ashley Hatch, Christen Press and Christie Welsh.
• Tierna Davidson will earn her 53^rd cap as she makes her second start and second appearance of 2024. Davidson went the distance in the USA’s Feb. 23 win over Argentina and has one previous appearance against Colombia, starting and playing the full 90 minutes in the Jan. 22, 2021 victory. This will be just the fourth time Davidson and her former collegiate teammate Girma will start together as the center back pairing for the USA.
• Twenty-year-old midfielder Korbin Albert will make her third career start – and third of this W Gold Cup – as she earns her fifth cap for the USWNT. The only player to start each of the USA’s first two matches this tournament, Albert came on as a second-half substitute against Mexico and was one of nine players to appear in all three group stage matches.
• Sam Coffey will make her second consecutive start and third of the W Gold Cup as she earns her 11^th cap. Coffey will have now appeared in each of the last seven matches for the USWNT, a streak that began with the October 29, 2023, win over Colombia in San Diego.
• Trinity Rodman will make her third consecutive start at the W Gold Cup as she earns her 32^nd career cap. Rodman leads the U.S. in total minutes played at this Concacaf W Gold Cup (205) and will be making her 22^nd consecutive appearance for the USWNT, a streak that started in the opening match of 2023. It’s the most consecutive appearances by any USWNT player since Carli Lloyd appeared in 22 consecutive games to close out her international career in 2021.
• Emily Fox earns her 43^rd cap as she makes her second consecutive start and fourth appearance overall for the USWNT at the Concacaf W Gold Cup. Fox finished second on the team in total minutes played in 2023 and played every minute of the two October matches against Colombia, tallying an assist on Lindsey Horan’s goal on Oct. 29.
