Greg Garza Departs MNT Camp Due to Injury

Veteran defender Greg Garza has withdrawn from January Camp after being diagnosed with a low-grade quadriceps strain.

CHICAGO (Jan. 17, 2019) – U.S. Men’s National Team defender Greg Garza has departed training camp after being diagnosed with a low-grade quadriceps strain. The 27-year-old left back will return to FC Cincinnati for treatment.

Garza will not be replaced on the roster, which now stands at 27 players.

The MNT opens its 2019 schedule against Panama on Sunday, Jan. 27 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz. (8 p.m. ET; ESPN2, UniMás, UDN) before closing camp against Costa Rica on Saturday, Feb. 2 at Avaya Stadium in San Jose, Calif. (3:30 p.m. ET; FOX, UniMás, UDN).
