Our mission

The Score that Matters most to me is how fiercely we stand with people who have been pushed furthest to the margins — because our collective future depends on how well we rise together.

Lorrie Fair, the youngest member of the 1999 FIFA Women’s World Cup–winning U.S. National Team, is a World Cup champion, Olympic Gold and Silver medalist, and three-time NCAA champion at UNC, with a professional career that included the Philadelphia Charge, Olympique Lyonnais, and Chelsea FC. Since retiring from international play in 2009, she has dedicated herself to advancing social equity through sport, serving as an ambassador for Right to Play and Show Racism the Red Card, working with UNHCR, and co-leading an overland expedition to the 2010 World Cup. A U.S. State Department Sport Envoy since 2008, she has delivered sports diplomacy programs in 14 countries to support conflict resolution, gender equity, and education. Lorrie is now Chief Program Director at the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project (CTAOP), where she has spent 14 years strengthening community-based organizations, leading grantmaking, and championing participatory, trust-based philanthropy. She holds an MPA from UNC–Chapel Hill and lives in Southern California with her partner, two children, and two dogs.

The Score that Matters to me is that soccer has helped me repay my family for all the hardships we had growing up and also it’s helped me develop and build this brand new family that I have.

Chris Richards is an imposing U.S. defender who earned eight U-20 caps heading into the FIFA U-20 World Cup. He joined the U.S. squad midway through the 2018 Concacaf U-20 Championship, helping the team win its second straight title with starts in its tightest victories over Honduras and Mexico. Richards made his first U-20 appearance in May 2018 after earlier representing the U-19s, following standout play in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy with FC Dallas and Texans SC Houston, where he won the U-17/18 Academy Championship and earned Central Conference Player of the Year honors.

Professionally, Richards signed with FC Dallas as a Homegrown Player in 2018 before joining Bayern Munich in January 2019 after a six-month loan. He logged more than 1,700 minutes with Bayern’s U-19s, appeared in the International Champions Cup against PSG, Juventus, and Manchester City, and continued developing within one of the world’s top systems. Raised in Alabama, he began playing soccer at age four with Hoover Soccer Club, later adding basketball and track to his athletic résumé. His full name is Christopher Jeffrey Richards, and he comes from a highly athletic family; he enjoys music, Netflix, and chicken wings, counts Jerome Boateng and Carles Puyol among his favorite players, and cites winning the FA Cup as his favorite soccer moment.

The Score that Matters most to me is how well we ensure our youth have the guidance, support and confidence to chase and fulfil their dreams.

Tony Sanneh is widely recognized as one of the most impactful American soccer players of his generation. Sanneh’s incredible career highlights include two Major League Soccer championships with D.C. United, participation in the UEFA Champions League with Hertha Berlin during his time in the German Bundesliga, and most of all his standout performances while playing every minute of the 2002 FIFA World Cup for the United States Men’s National Team. This legacy of achievements was recently recognized by his selection to the National Soccer Hall of Fame Class of 2026.

Sanneh’s contributions off the field are equally impactful, establishing and leading The Sanneh Foundation to build and strengthen community health and well-being. Evolving with the needs expressed by youth and families, he has grown the organization from one program and a total budget of $60K, to six programs and a yearly budget of more than $10M today. The scope and scale of the organization’s work to create a culture of health through student mentorship, afterschool programming, free sports camps, workforce development, and nutritional programs was recognized by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Sports Award, and Tony Sanneh himself was honored by U.S. Soccer with the 2025 Carla Overbeck Leadership Award.

The score that matters the most to me is ensuring that the game of soccer is an accessible and equal playing space that is inclusive, empowering, and fun for all!

Kate has been a member of the U.S. Deaf Women’s National Team since 2009, and has been a part of teams that won four Deaflympic gold medals and three Deaf World Football Championships. She was a Division I Women’s Soccer coach for eight years, and is now the Executive Director of USA Deaf Soccer Association. Kate has been involved in projects and roles with U.S. Soccer, United Soccer Coaches, and FIFA to increase accessibility and promote inclusion in all forms of the game. She is currently working on her PhD in Educational Leadership, Social Justice, and Advocacy while doing research in sport for development at VCU.

The score that matters most to me is the opportunity to use soccer as a platform for deep community impact, education and workforce development for youth and families that historically have been excluded from those systems.

CJ Brown, one of Major League Soccer’s most accomplished defenders and a longtime Chicago Fire leader, built a standout 13-year playing career marked by club records, two Defender of the Year awards, and induction into the Ring of Fire, alongside three MLS Humanitarian of the Year honors. After retiring, he served in coaching and leadership roles across MLS and U.S. Soccer before returning to Chicago as the Fire’s Director of Community Soccer, overseeing free neighborhood programming and the club’s pre-academy discovery process. In 2020, he founded the CJ Brown Foundation to give back to the communities that shaped him, using soccer to uplift Black and Brown youth on Chicago’s South and West Sides through weekly programs, mentorship, and pathways to education, employment, and leadership.

Soccer is my passion and I love living out my dreams on the field. This sport has provided me with lifelong friends, hard lessons, and experiences I never would have dreamed of. As satisfying and incredible as scoring goals and winning is, the meaning behind the game is the Score that Matters to me. I yearn to leave the game better than I found it and help people around the world to experience the good that soccer has to offer. I want lead with grit, grace, and good in my career. My goal is to teach young players to dream and achieve their goals and also work with communities so that everyone has access to soccer and experience what it can do in their lives. 

Ally Sentnor is a professional soccer player for the Kansas City Current in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). Originally from Hanson, Massachusetts, she began her club career at age seven with South Shore Select and later competed for Thayer Academy. Sentnor continued her development at the University of North Carolina, where she established herself as one of the nation’s top collegiate players before being selected by the Utah Royals in the NWSL Draft. After a successful first season and a half in Utah, she was traded to the Kansas City Current, where she continues to make a significant impact. Sentnor earned her first cap with the U.S. Women’s National Team in late 2024 and has since represented the United States 13 times.

The Score that Matters most to me is access. Soccer gave me a path, and I believe every kid deserves the chance to learn, grow, and feel seen through the game - regardless of background or circumstance.

Jozy Altidore is a former U.S. Men’s National Team striker and one of the most accomplished American players of his generation. Over a professional career spanning more than 15 years, he earned over 100 caps for the U.S. National Team and represented the country in multiple World Cups.

He played across top leagues in Europe, including La Liga and the Premier League, before becoming a club legend at Toronto FC, where he helped lead the team to historic success and an MLS Cup title.

Since retiring, Jozy has focused on building a long-term sports portfolio centered on impact, youth development, and access. Through Sogility, his youth soccer platform, he is committed to expanding opportunities, improving development pathways, and creating more inclusive environments for young players across the United States.

The score that matters the most to me is making the game more affordable and accessible to all. Every kid deserves the opportunity to fall in love with soccer. Our experience on the field at all levels, shapes our love for the game off the field.

Heath Pearce, is the President and co-founder of For Soccer, a preeminent soccer media, marketing and experiences company. For Soccer is the owner and operator of community focused programs Alianza de Futbol and Black Star. Heath speaks German, Spanish and Portuguese, and is also an analyst for the English broadcasts on MLS Season Pass. He made 235 appearances during an 11-year playing career that included five MLS seasons and three MLS All-Star selections. He also spent five years in Europe playing in the German Bundesliga and Danish Superleague and earned 35 caps as a defender for the U.S. Men’s National team (2005-12). Pearce has worked as a soccer analyst for CBS, Paramount+, ESPN, FOX and beIN Sports. 

The score that matters most to me is the legacy of inclusion and impact soccer creates, turning play into possibility in communities across America.

Justin Morrow is a former MLS Cup champion, U.S. Men’s National Team player, and award-winning humanitarian. He co-founded and served as the first executive director of Black Players for Change, helping reduce racial incidents and build equity initiatives across Major League Soccer. He now works in various roles across the sports industry, focusing on the intersection of identity, inclusion and social impact. 

The score that matters most to me is the resilience that soccer teaches—and in ensuring every child has the opportunity to experience and grow from the game.

Joey played competitive soccer until a brain tumor diagnosis in her freshman year of high school changed everything. Brain surgery left her unable to walk and talk; a return to the pitch motivated her everyday through intense rehab, chemotherapy and radiation. Her competitive spirit drove her to get back on the pitch—no matter how long it took or how different she might play.

In 2022, she joined the new U.S. Women’s CP National Team. Since then, she’s had the honor of helping the team earn historic milestones and representing the United States on the world stage. As an international affairs and Spanish double major at Georgia Tech graduating in 2027, with an interest in non-profits and education, she looks forward to sharing her joy for the game with young players

The score that matters most to me is the social power of the beautiful game. Of course I enjoyed playing at the highest level and winning trophies, but what keeps me in love with and involved in soccer is its ability to improve your health and wellness through the collective effervescence of experiencing it with others.

Kyle Martino is a former U.S. men’s national team and MLS midfielder turned award-winning broadcaster and innovative community leader. After seven seasons in MLS and eight national team caps, Martino became a prominent analyst with NBC Sports, ESPN, CBS, and others. In 2018, his U.S. Soccer Federation presidential bid deepened his commitment to access and equity in the game.

He has since launched transformative ventures, including the Over Under Initiative’s “Goalpher” system, co-founding Street FC to grow the street-soccer movement, creating No One Home to connect football culture through events and media, and building American Football Company to shape the sport’s future through strategy, creativity, and advisory work. Across every project, Martino’s mission is clear: grow the game from the grassroots up and ensure its reach touches every community.

The Score that Matters most to me is who my players become — on and off the field. Soccer is my way of creating belonging, confidence, and real opportunity.

Staci Wilson is a former U.S. Olympian and longtime youth development coach dedicated to empowering players through confidence, community, and high-level training. She leads programs across the U.S. and the Caribbean focused on access, representation, and player growth on and off the field. Her work blends performance, purpose, and mentorship to shape strong, resilient young people through the game.

The score that matters most to me is seeing opportunities afforded to individuals with disabilities who normally would not get the chance to play.

A member of the U.S. Para 7-a-side National Team from 2006-2016, Chris Ahrens was a member of the U.S. team that qualified for the London 2012 Paralympic Games and participated in the 2007 and 2011 World Championships. Ahrens is a Lead Adapted Physical Education Teacher for the San Diego Unified School District and was voted the 2025 Adapted Physical Education Teacher of the Year for the state of California. He currently chairs U.S. Soccer’s Athletes’ Council and is in his 3rd term on the Board of Directors.

The score that matters most is the growth and confidence I get to help players discover—on the sand, on the field, and within themselves.

Ali Hall is a professional beach soccer athlete and coach who leads 9v9 programming at Girls Unite Soccer Club. After playing Division I soccer at the University of Tennessee, she went on to represent the U.S. Women’s Beach Soccer National Team and compete with Cali Beach Soccer Club. She is now co-creating NMD Beach, a nonprofit focused on giving youth players access, opportunity, and a home on the sand.
Ali also works as a mental skills coach with Expand Your Game, where she advocates for mental health in sports and uses her platform to push the game forward in meaningful ways.

The score that matters to me is the number of pathways soccer creates for youth. Expansion through exposure, soccer is more than just the global game, it's a spring board for creating opportunities on and off the field. Soccer was a vehicle for me to immerse myself in different cultures, see the world, and have opportunities; I believe it can do the same for others.

To be more specific, two scores that matter are the number of youth that stay playing after the ages of 13-14 and how can soccer help improve attendance in underserved school districts through afterschool programs.

Amobi Okugo is a professional soccer player turned corporate entrepreneur.

Okugo was drafted in the first round of the 2010 MLS super draft from UCLA and has since played over 200 competitive games for teams including Philadelphia, Orlando, Kansas City, Portland, and Austin. Amobi Okugo was a youth USMNT mainstay from u-14 - u-23 competing in the 2012 Olympic qualifying cycle amongst other international tournaments.

Amobi is a founder or partner with multiple other ventures including Serve Consulting, an education and empowerment company that uses the power of sport to teach life skills.

Amobi Okugo also founded The Ok U Go Foundation to help provide resources and opportunities to children from low-income backgrounds through athletic, educational, and social programs.

The Score that matters most to me is creating a world where inclusivity, accessibility and equity is the expectation, not the exception. Everyone deserves the opportunity to play, to be a part of something bigger than themselves, and to know that their life, matters.

Sydney Andrews has been a member of the US Deaf Women's National Team since 2012 and has been part of teams that won three Deaf World Championships and three Deaflympic gold medals. She is currently involved with two non-profit organizations; BAWSI (Bay Area Women's Sports Initiative) and USA Deaf Soccer Association, both of which are focused on providing access and empowering young leaders within underrepresented communities. Sydney is currently working on obtaining her Doctorate of Physical Therapy.
