The U.S. Under-15 Women’s Youth National Team was instituted in 2004 to help bridge the gap between the annual summer Under-14 Girls’ National Identification Camp (which is no longer held, having been replaced for several years by U-14 WYNT training camps and a U-14 Talent Identification Program) and the U.S. Under-17 Women’s Youth National Team. With the implementation of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, the importance of the U-15s and the U-16s has grown as this age group has a tangible goal when they enter their first major programming experience with the U.S. Women’s National Teams.
