CHICAGO (June 22, 2022) – U.S. Soccer has announced the application window for fall 2022 Educator Courses will open Friday, July 8 at 9 a.m. CT. The Educator Course is designed for individuals interested in teaching future U.S. Soccer Coaching Education Courses.

Those working to become Educators will begin their education process with Part 1 (Base Course) and then proceed onto the Course Level Pathway (ex. Base Course à Coach Educator C License or Base Course à Coach Educator B License).

“We are very excited to create this formalized pathway for educators to further develop them. We want to continuously improve the quality of programs and raise standards,” said Coach Educator & Technical Leader of the Educator Pathway Zac Crawford. “By increasing the quantity while also improving the quality of our educator workforce, we can not only help make education more accessible and inclusive but also promote continuous professional development.”

The application window, which is broken into two phases, will run from July 8 – July 18 (Phase 1) and July 25 – August 5 (Phase 2; only invited applicants from Phase 1). Interested applicants are strongly encouraged to review the comprehensive course overview, which is linked below. This document provides details on course structure, meeting dates/times, and expectations. All applications must be submitted through the U.S. Soccer Learning Center.

“The establishment of the Educator pathway provides more opportunities for current and future educators to get involved in coaching education,” said U.S. Soccer Director of Coaching Education Didier Chambaron. “Increasing the number of licensed coach educators will be instrumental as we further develop programming at various levels with the support of our members.”

Participants at U.S. Soccer’s National Coaching Schools will have the opportunity to earn a nationally recognized license from the U.S. Soccer Federation, a FIFA national association member and the governing body of soccer in all its forms in the United States.
