CHICAGO (Jan. 11, 2018) – U.S. Women’s National Team midfielder Morgan Brian will not attend the USA’s January training camp in Los Angeles, and instead will stay in France with her club Olympique Lyonnais as she works to return to fitness from nagging injuries that impacted her play in 2017.
In addition, after medical evaluations before the start of training revealed a stress reaction in her left foot that will require several weeks of rest, defender Becky Sauerbrunn will also not participate in camp.
Both players were initially named to the 26-player roster currently training at the U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Carson, California, in preparation for the Jan. 21 clash with Denmark at San Diego Country Credit Union Stadium in San Diego at 10:30 p.m. ET on ESPN [TICKETS].
At this time, neither player will be replaced on the training camp roster, and U.S. head coach Jill Ellis will choose 18 players to suit up for the Denmark game from the 24 currently in Los Angeles.
