Jesus Ferreira continued his career season on Saturday, July 9 by connecting for a vital stoppage-time goal for FC Dallas.

The 21-year-old U.S. Men's National Team forward deposited a right-wing feed that deflected off a Houston player, which lifted FC Dallas to a 2-1 lead three minutes into added time in the Texas Derby.

However, Ferreira and his teammates couldn't hold the advantage as Teenage Hadebe equalized 11 minutes into injury time to give the host Dynamo a dramatic 2-2 draw.

Ferreira has scored a career-high 11 goals, which ties him with Austin FC's Sebastián Driussi for second place in the MLS Golden Boot race. The striker has also has accrued four assists in 19 games. New York City FC striker Taty Castellanos leads with a dozen tallies.

The 5-9, 150-lb. Ferreira struck for four goals in the USA's 5-0 win over Grenada in a Concacaf Nations League contest on June 22. He has scored seven goals in 13 international appearances.

GOAL CREATORS

Creating and not necessarily scoring goals was the theme for three players last week.

* Kellyn Acosta assisted on Jose Cifuentes’ 17th-minute goal to help LAFC to a 3-2 home derby victory over the LA Galaxy on Friday. Cifuentes headed in his corner kick for a 1-0 lead. Acosta has recorded two assists in his team's last three home matches.

* Gyasi Zardes set up Lalas Abubakar's 89th-minute equalizer to lift the Colorado Rapids to a 2-2 draw at Real Salt Lake on Saturday, July 10. He headed a Bryan Acosta cross that wound up off target. However, the ball went to Abubakar, who buried the ball into the far corner for the dramatic tying goal. It was Zardes' second assist of the season.

* Sebastian Lletget recorded his fifth assist of the season on the New England Revolution's first goal in its 4-2 loss at New York City FC on Saturday. Lletget broke into the box on the right and cut back a pass at the end line for Gustavo Bou, whose goal knotted things up at 1-1 in the 18th minute.

WINLESS STREAK SNAPPED

While he did not add to his shutout total - the goalkeeper has eight this season - Sean Johnson made several key saves in New York City FC's 4-2 home win over the New England Revolution on Saturday. Johnson, who was outstanding in the USA's scoreless draw with Uruguay on June 5, made four saves as the defending MLS Cup champions broke their winless streak at five matches (2-0-3).
