CHICAGO (May 25, 2024) – Washington Spirit midfielder Andi Sullivan has been added to the U.S. Women’s National Team roster as a training player ahead of the June matches against Korea Republic.
On May 21, U.S. head coach Emma Hayes named 23 players to the game rosters for the matches and three training players to the camp ahead of the two matches, taking place in Commerce City, Colorado on June 1 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park (3 p.m. MT / 5 p.m. ET on TNT, Universo, truTV, Max and Peacock) before moving on to St. Paul, Minnesota for a June 4 match at Allianz Field, which will be presented by Allstate (7 p.m. CT / 8 p.m. ET on truTV, Universo, Max and Peacock).
As always during National Team camps, the training loads of all the players will be handled appropriately, but with several players on the roster returning from injuries, midfielder Lindsey Horan playing in the UEFA Women’s Champions League Final on Saturday and defender Emily Fox flying to camp from Australia after Arsenal FC’s post-season tour there, Hayes made the decision to add one more player to camp to bolster the training environment.
The 28-year-old Sullivan, who has 52 career caps and three goals for the USA, was a member of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup Team and started all four matches last summer. All of the training players – Sullivan, midfielders Croix Bethune and Olivia Moultrie, and defender Kate Wiesner -- will depart camp before the first match.
