U.S. Women’s National Team January Training Camp and the Futures Camp Have Been Moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida Due to Los Angeles Wildfires
USWNT and Futures Camps Will Now Be Held from Jan. 17-23 Inter Miami CF’s Florida Blue Training Center
CHICAGO (Jan. 10, 2025) – U.S. Soccer has made the decision to move the January training camp for the U.S. Women’s National Team, as well as the Future Camp featuring up-and-coming USWNT prospects who are all age-eligible for the U.S. U-23 Women's National Team that would have run concurrently, due to the tragic wildfires in the Los Angeles area.
The training camps, which feature 50 total players, will still be held concurrently, but will start three days later than previously planned and run from Jan. 17-23 at the Inter Miami CF’s Florida Blue Training Center in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
"The safety of our players and staff is always our top priority, and with the fires still burning, many areas in a state of emergency, and the air quality next week an unknown, we made the decision to move the camps,” said U.S. Soccer Sporting Director Matt Crocker. “Our hearts go out to all those affected in Southern California and our sincere gratitude goes to all the first responders and volunteers helping to navigate this tragedy. We also want to thank Inter Miami for accommodating us on such short notice and enabling us to run two training camps in a world class facility.”
The U.S. Men’s National Team is currently training at the Florida Blue Training Center in preparation for its match on Jan. 18 vs. Venezuela at Chase Stadium, which is adjacent to the training fields. The women's teams will begin their camps as the men are finishing.
