U-20 MNT Earns Win and Draw vs. Morocco in Final Matches Before World Cup

The U.S. Under-20 Men’s National Team played its final two preparation matches for the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup this past week, earning a 4-1 win against Morocco on Sept. 5 before playing to a 0-0 draw with the African side on Sept. 7. Both matches were played at Pinatar Arena in San Pedro del Pinatar, Spain.

On Sept. 5, the USA conceded an early second-minute goal from Morocco’s Yassine Gessime, before the team came roaring back with a four-goal onslaught with two on each side of halftime. Zavier Gozo equalized in the 26th minute, before Josh Wynder put the USA up 2-1 in the 29th.

On the other side of the break, Matthew Corcoran tallied in the 68th before Marcos Zambrano put a cap on the match with a goal of his own in the 76th minute.

The two sides met again two days later, playing to a 0-0 draw.

The 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile starts later this month and the U.S. will announce its final roster on Friday, Sept. 19, before taking on New Caledonia (Sept. 29), France (Oct. 2) and South Africa (Oct. 5) in Group E play. All three U.S. matches will take place in Rancagua, Chile.
