ATLANTA (Dec. 11, 2025) – As the U.S. continues its FIFA World Cup preparations featuring a lineup stacked with international heavyweights, the final opponent has been confirmed for the team’s penultimate game, a high-caliber encounter with African powerhouse Senegal on May 31 in Charlotte, N.C. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased here.

Kickoff from Bank of America Stadium is set for 3:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on TBS, HBO Max, Universo, and Peacock.

The match will be carried live on radio as Westwood One Sports delivers English language commentary while longtime partner Fútbol de Primera has the Spanish language call.

Fans can follow the USMNT on X (@USMNT), Instagram (@USMNT), Facebook and the official U.S. Soccer App.

The U.S. Men's National Team plays four final matches before the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The USA first hosts Belgium on March 28 in Atlanta (Tickets). Three days later, the USMNT will remain in Atlanta to take on Portugal, presented by Bank of America (Tickets). The USA will host the Allstate Continental Clásico against Senegal on May 31 at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C. (Tickets). To close, the USA will host Germany on June 6 in Chicago, Ill. in the Coca-Cola Send-Off Match (Tickets).

All four matches will take place at stadiums that are home to NFL and MLS teams.

The surrounding matches against three additional World Cup qualified teams offer continued preparation against significant opponents and styles the team could face this summer.

“We are so happy to have such a great team in Senegal as our fourth opponent in the matches leading up into the tournament,” USMNT head coach Mauricio Pochettino said. “In the year leading up to the World Cup, we will have played at least one team from five different confederations which is incredibly valuable for our preparations. We are looking forward to an amazing crowd in Charlotte.”

Senegal went unbeaten in CAF World Cup Qualifying, amassing seven wins while allowing just three goals during 10 matches. Led by 2019 African Footballer of the Year, Sadio Mané, Senegal won its first international trophy in 2021, defeating Egypt to win the African Cup of Nations title.

STARS, STRIPES & SENEGAL

Despite both nations having storied histories, Senegal and the United States have never faced each other in international competition. Ranked 19th in the Coca-Cola FIFA Men’s World Rankings, Senegal was drawn into Group I during the 2026 FIFA World Cup Draw on December 5 and will face France, Norway and the winner of FIFA Playoff 2. In the opening match of the 2002 World Cup, the Teranga Lions took down then-reigning World Cup winners, France, going on to become only the second African team at that time to reach the quarterfinal stage. Senegal forward and a Liverpool legend who now plays for Al-Nassr, Sadio Mané is the most capped player and top scorer in the country’s history with 117 appearances and 50 goals. The U.S. boasts a Senegal connection via Crystal Palace, with USMNT defender Chris Richards being teammates with forward Ismaila Sarr. Senegal will make its third consecutive appearance at the World Cup in 2026.

COMING TO QUEEN CITY

This is only the second match for the USMNT in Charlotte and at Bank of America Stadium, home of Charlotte FC. On July 2, 2023, a first-half hat trick from Jesús Ferreira paced the USA to 6-0 win against Trinidad and Tobago in the final match of Concacaf Gold Cup group play before 40,243 fans at Bank of America Stadium. Overall, the USMNT has a 5L-1L-2D record in the state of North Carolina. Charlotte FC defender Tim Ream has earned 79 caps for the USMNT since 2011 and has served as U.S. captain 25 times, ranking him eighth on the team’s all-time captains list.

ALLSTATE CONTINENTAL CLÁSICO

The Continental Clásico is an annual event hosted by U.S. Soccer that brings the U.S. Men’s or U.S. Women’s National Teams together with top international competition. Traditionally featuring opponents from North, Central or South America, this year’s match welcomes a leading team from Africa. It marks the USMNT’s third appearance in the Allstate Continental Clásico, following the U.S. Women’s National Team’s participation in the 2025 edition against Canada.

Allstate is committed to growing the game and empowering the next generation of players and leaders. Through partnerships with U.S. Soccer, MLS, Sueno Alianza and Black Star, Allstate helps young athletes access development opportunities that connect them to collegiate and professional pathways, building a stronger future for the sport.

USMNT IN GROUP D IN 2026 FIFA WORLD CUP

The U.S. Men’s National Team was drawn into Group D along with Paraguay, Australia and the winner of UEFA Playoff C -- either Kosovo, Romania, Slovakia or Türkiye -- at the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final Draw held on December 5 in Washington, D.C. During 2025, the USMNT defeated already qualified opponents Australia and Paraguay, in addition to facing UEFA Playoff C hopeful, Türkiye.

Appearing in its 12th World Cup and second time as a host nation, the USMNT opens group play against Paraguay on June 12 at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT in Los Angeles, Calif. The second group stage match will take place on June 19 at 3 p.m. ET / 12 p.m. PT in Seattle against Australia and the USA will finish back in Los Angeles on June 25 at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT against the UEFA Playoff C winner.

The USA is gearing up for its ninth FIFA World Cup since 1990 and heads into 2026 unbeaten in its last five matches, with four victories against teams that were already qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
