ATLANTA (Jan. 7, 2026) – U.S. Soccer has announced the hiring of Jeremy Hall as full-time head coach of the U.S. Under-18 Men’s National Team.

A member of the U.S. squad at the 2005 FIFA U-17 World Cup and a 10-year professional player in the United States, Hall comes to U.S. Soccer from Minnesota United FC 2 of MLS NEXT Pro, where he served as head coach since 2024 and was assistant coach during the previous two seasons. Hall joined Minnesota United from Toronto FC, where he was the head coach of the club’s U-14 Academy side from 2019-2022.

“We are excited to welcome Jeremy to the Youth National Teams as our U-18 Men’s National Team head coach,” said Barry Pauwels, Head of Development for Men’s Youth National Teams. “Through an extensive evaluation process, Jeremy stood out for his strong cultural fit, thoughtful leadership approach and clear commitment to long-term player development. As a high-potential coach, he brings valuable experience and a development mindset—qualities we believe will greatly benefit our young players and the future of the program.”

"I am incredibly grateful to join U.S. Soccer as the U-18 Men’s National Team head coach,” Hall said. "Having represented the U.S. during my own youth career, I am honored to contribute to the development of the players during these formative years. My own youth experience was filled with pride, and my goal is to help facilitate a positive and productive environment for these players to grow in their own journeys. I am excited to learn alongside this staff, and for the opportunity to evolve within a high-performance environment."

Hall managed MNUFC2 to its first playoff appearance in 2025, guiding the club to the Western Conference Final. During his first season, the Tampa, Fla., product was chosen to lead the West Team during the MLS NEXT All-Star Game during MLS’ All-Star Week held in Minnesota in August 2022, which showcased the top youth talent in MLS NEXT across that season. Hall additionally helped prepare Minnesota United’s First Team ahead of its 2024 season, acting as an interim assistant coach throughout the entire preseason and the first three games of the MLS regular season. Hall holds U.S. Soccer’s A-Senior Coaching License.

As a player, Hall was a member of the U.S. squad at the 2005 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Peru, appearing in three matches and scoring in the 1-1 draw against Ivory Coast in the team’s group-stage finale. He also represented the U-18 MNT in 2007. Hall played collegiately at the University of Maryland from 2006-2008, where he won the National Championship in his final season. Deployed as both a midfielder and defender, Hall was selected 11th overall by the New York Red Bulls in the 2009 MLS SuperDraft and spent seven seasons in MLS, also playing for Portland Timbers, FC Dallas, Toronto FC and New England Revolution. Hall moved on to captain USL Championship side Sacramento Republic from 2016-2018 and also earned seven international caps for Puerto Rico during that time.

Hall becomes the sixth full-time head coach in the U.S. Soccer Men’s and Boys’ National Team programs under Pauwels. Rob Valentino is the current U-20 MNT head coach, Gonzalo Segares is the U-19 MNT head coach, Alex Aldaz is the U-17 MNT head coach, Paul Simpson is the U-16 Boys’ National Team head coach and Ross Brady serves as U-15 BNT head coach. The head coach position for the U-23/21 MNT remains open but is slated to be filled in the near future.
