Notes:

  • Tonight’s Starting XI averages 47.3 caps heading into the match. It’s the most experienced Starting XI the U.S. has fielded since Oct. 23, 2025, vs. Portugal. U.S. head coach Emma Hayes made 10 changes to the lineup from the opening SheBelieves match with outside back Gisele Thompson as the only holdover.
  • Six of the starters have FIFA Women’s World Cup and/or Olympic experience: Rose Lavelle, Emily Sonnett, Emily Fox, Naomi Girma, Trinity Rodman and Sam Coffey.
  • Phallon Tullis-Joyce makes her first SheBelieves Cup appearance, earning the start in goal. This is also her first ever tournament with the USWNT and first international match since Oct. 23, 2025 vs. Portugal.
  • Girma and Rodman earn their 51st caps together as Rodman just crossed the 50-cap mark on March 1 (Girma hit that mark in December). The pair are the 70th and 71st players, respectively, to earn 50 caps and two of the only 14 active players with more than 50 caps. The other 57 are retired.
  • Rose “Skyline Messi” Lavelle makes the start tonight in her home state of Ohio. Fellow Ohioan, Emma Sears, who hails from Dublin, a suburb of Colombus, will start on the bench tonight, although she started in Nashville vs. Argentina. She assisted Lindsey Heaps on the game-winner in the first half.

STARTING XI NOTES:

Phallon Tullis-Joyce, 29, earns her fifth cap and start for the USWNT. In her first camp back since last fall, this is Tullis-Joyce’s first tournament with the U.S. and first SheBelieves Cup.

Rose Lavelle, 30, earns her 117th cap and 97th start. The Ohio native will take the field for the USWNT in her home state for the eighth time. Lavelle has the most caps of this Starting XI, ahead of Sonnett (who has the next most) by three and ahead of the lineup’s least-capped player Tullis-Joyce by 112.

Emily Sonnett, 32, earns her 114th cap and 61st start. Sonnett has competed in all 11 SheBelieves Cup and in doing so, holds the record for the individual with the most SheBelieves Cup tournament wins with seven (the same number as the U.S. program holds).

Emily Fox, 27, earns her 72nd cap and 61st start. The Arsenal right back played 30 minutes in Sunday’s match and brought some experience off the bench to help earn the clean sheet for the U.S.

Naomi Girma, 25, this is Girma’s 51st cap and 49th start for the U.S. and she was the 70th player to earn 50 caps, doing so on Dec. 1 vs. Italy. This is Girma’s fifth time captaining the U.S.

Trinity Rodman, 23, earns her 51st cap and 31st start. Rodman earned her 50th cap on Sunday vs. Argentina in her short appearance before she took a hard hit from behind from an Argentinian defender in the final moments of the game. Rodman is the 22nd fastest player to make it to 50 caps and the 71st to do so overall.

Sam Coffey, 27, earns her 43rd cap and 30th start. She’s had scoring contributions in four straight camps for which she was called up to end 2025. In January, Coffey transferred from the Portland Thorns to Manchester City.

Alyssa Thompson, 21, earns her 28th cap and 15th start. This is the third time she and her sister Gisele Thompson will start a USWNT match together and fifth time they’ll play in the same USWNT game. They are a ways from tying the Mewis sisters for most USWNT games played together at 12.

Ally Sentnor, 22, earns her 17th cap and eighth start. This is her second SheBelieves Cup as she made her first start and scored her first goal to open the 2025 SheBelieves Cup vs. Colombia. She had a scoring contribution in all three games at last year’s tournament, providing an assist against Australia and scoring her second international goal against Japan, the lone U.S. goal of that night.

Claire Hutton, 15, earns her 15th cap and 11th start. Hutton just completed a transfer to Bay FC from the KC Current.

Gisele Thompson, 20, earns her seventh cap and fifth start. She made her debut in last year’s SheBelieves Cup, earning her first cap vs. Colombia on Feb. 20, 2025, and earning her first start vs. Australia on Feb. 23, 2025. She earned her first assist in this year’s match vs. Paraguay on Jan. 24. This is the third time she and her sister Gisele Thompson will start a USWNT match together and fifth time they’ll play in the same USWNT game. They are a ways from tying the Mewis sisters for most USWNT games played together at 12.
