U.S. Soccer Announces California Storm and Sporting CT Will Meet in the Inaugural Chastain Cup Final
U.S. Soccer’s premier women’s amateur championship honors the legacy of Brandi Chastain



ATLANTA (April 29, 2026) – U.S. Soccer today announced that California Storm and Sporting CT will meet in the 2026 Chastain Cup Final, the inaugural championship match of the federation’s premier women’s amateur competition. The Final will take place Saturday, June 6 at 7:05 p.m. PT at the Davis Legacy Soccer Complex in Davis, CA.
Named in honor of Brandi Chastain, a two-time FIFA Women’s World Cup champion and Olympic gold medalist, the Chastain Cup celebrates excellence in American women’s soccer while expanding high-level competitive opportunities within the domestic landscape.

This year's final brings together two of the nation's most accomplished women's programs for a historic clash. California Storm, one of the most decorated amateur women’s clubs in the country, will host Sporting CT, an elite women’s program in the Northeast.
U.S. Soccer Adult Council Chair John Motta said, “We are excited to be a part of this inaugural Women's Amateur tournament. This will be the start of more opportunities for women to participate in national tournaments.”

• California Storm enters the Chastain Cup Final as the host club, bringing home-field energy to the Davis Legacy Soccer Complex. Founded and led by owner Jamie Levoy, the Storm has built a reputation as one of the premier women's club programs on the West Coast, developing talent and providing top-level competitive opportunities for players at every stage of their career. California Storm was recognized by the Adult Council at the 2026 U.S. Soccer Annual General Meeting upon receiving the 2025 Jerry Zanelli Outstanding Amateur Women’s Club award.
• Sporting CT brings cross-country ambition and competitive pedigree to this year's final. Under the guidance of Head Coaches Tiffany Weimer and Matt Cameron, Sporting CT has emerged as one of the elite women's programs in the Northeast, combining tactical sophistication with a deep commitment to player development. The team’s journey to the Chastain Cup Final represents the culmination of a remarkable season in which the team won the 2025 WPSL Championship and had their name added to the Jerry Zanelli Trophy. This success is a testament to the program's continued growth under Coach Weimer's leadership as Director, Coach andplayer for the program. Sporting CT was also recently honored by the U.S. Soccer Adult Council for winning the 2025 Kendra Halterman Outstanding Amateur Women’s Team award.
