U.S. Under-19 Women's National Team Falls 1-0 to Germany to Split Games in Frankfurt
USA Wins First Game, 2-0, But Loses Second on Set Play Goal



FRANKFURT, Germany (June 9, 2026) – After defeating Germany, 2-0, on June 5, the U.S. Under-19 Women’s National Team lost, 1-0, in the second match to finish up a training came at the DFB National Training Center.
The lone goal came off a corner kick in the 56th minute that was served to the penalty spot. Defender Lina Száraz jumped to head the ball into the bottom right corner. It took a small deflection on the way into the net past diving U.S. goalkeeper Elizabeth Thornton.
These matches were a part of the Federation’s continued focus on the U.S. Way philosophy, which emphasizes increased programming for Youth National Teams to create more opportunities for young players to advance through the pathway to the senior National Team with the goal of representing their country at a world championship.
