ATLANTA (July 20, 2026) – U.S. Men’s Beach Soccer National Team head coach Marcelo Mendes has selected an 18-player roster for the squad’s domestic training camp from July 21-26 at the Arthur M. Blank U.S. Soccer National Training Center. The gathering will mark the first-ever Beach Soccer National Team camp held at the new state-of-the-art facility, which features two full-sized, international sand courts.
“Our players and staff are excited for the first Beach Soccer National Team camp at the Arthur M. Blank U.S. Soccer National Training Center,” Mendes said. We have assembled a diverse group of players, including experienced veterans, athletes who have recently joined our roster, and several new faces identified through the scouting process and the identification camps we conducted over the past few months.
“This camp represents an excellent opportunity to evaluate every player, continue building our team identity, and assess where we stand as we prepare for the challenges and objectives ahead.
We are looking forward to a highly competitive environment that will help us continue raising the level of our program."
Mendes has selected a balanced roster, mixing a number of long-time veterans with players that have taken positive strides in recent camps and a few first-time call-ups as he continues to evaluate the player pool and shape a roster for next year’s Concacaf Beach Soccer Championship.
Among the veterans are 10 players with previous FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup experience, including the last five winners of U.S. Soccer’s Male Beach Soccer Player of the Year award in Ricardo Carvalho (Milwaukee, Wisc.; 2025), Antonio Chavez (Oceanside, Calif.; 2024), Gabe Silveira (San Francisco, Calif.; 2023) and Nico Perea (Hollywood, Fla.; 2021 and 2022). Joining them are the three most-capped players in team history, all-time appearance leader Alessandro Canale (Venice Beach, Calif.; 108 caps), goalkeeper Chris Toth (Fallbrook, Calif.; 105 caps) and all-time leading scorer Nick Perera (Carlsbad, Calif.; 95 caps).
A member of the pool for the last few years, goalkeeper Brian Shushkovsky (Morganville, N.J.) has taken big steps with the Beach MNT in 2026, while striker Sasha Karlov (Virginia Beach, Va.) and Matthew Citron (San Diego, Calif.) continue their run with the team.
Returnees to the side include Lukas Holocher (Santa Cruz, Calif.), who was last in camp in October 2024, as well as goalkeeper Xavier Snaer-Williams (Oceanside, Calif.), who is back with the Beach MNT for the first time since November 2022.
Swiss-based goalkeeper Patrick Leemann (Zurich, Switzerland) also returns after first taking part in U.S. camp in October 2023, while Alex Cigularov (Virginia Beach, Va.) and Andrew Hayne (Milwaukee, Wisc.) will attend their first Beach MNT camps.
This camp reflects the Federation’s commitment to the U.S. Way, by investing in resources, infrastructure, and comprehensive support for its Extended National Teams – including the Beach Soccer National Teams - to ensure they are fully prepared to compete and succeed on the world stage.
