ATLANTA (Aug. 4, 2026) – Following the thrill of FIFA World Cup 2026 that captured the imagination of millions of Americans, the USMNT returns to action with an exciting slate of four international matches to kick off the new cycle. The series of games features back-to-back matchups against South American opposition in Peru and Chile, followed by classic Concacaf clashes with Mexico and Canada.
The quartet of fall matches will be the first in a new chapter of the USMNT as Mauricio Pochettino agreed to a new contract that will keep him as head coach through 2030.
The slate begins with USA-Peru on September 26 at Inter.co Stadium in Orlando, Fla. Kickoff for the Fan Appreciation Match is 4:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on TNT, truTV, HBO Max, Telemundo, Universo, and Peacock.
Three days later on September 29, USA-Chile, the Impact Match presented by New York Life, kicks off at 7 p.m. CT (8 p.m. ET) from Energizer Park in St. Louis, with the match against La Roja to be shown live on TNT, truTV, HBO Max, Universo, and Peacock.
The classic USA-Mexico rivalry will resume on October 3 in Glendale, Ariz. at State Farm Stadium. Kickoff from the home of the Arizona Cardinals is 7 p.m. MT (10 p.m. ET) and will be broadcast on TNT, HBO Max, Telemundo, Universo, and Peacock.
Closing out the four-match window, the USMNT will take on northern neighbor Canada on October 6 at Allianz Field in St. Paul, Minn. USA-Canada, presented by American Airlines, kicks off at 7 p.m. CT (8 p.m. ET), with the match shown live on TNT, truTV, HBO Max, Universo, and Peacock.
All four matches will be carried live on radio as Westwood One Sports delivers English language commentary while longtime partner Fútbol de Primera has the Spanish language call.

The matches give fans in four cities that did not host World Cup matches a chance to cheer on a U.S. team that inspired millions of Americans with its 2026 FIFA World Cup run while also providing meaningful competition opportunities against two strong South American teams in Peru and Chile, in addition to fellow Round of 16 World Cup participants in Mexico and Canada. The games kick of a new cycle for the USMNT and the long road to the qualifying for 2030 FIFA World Cup which will be held in Morocco, Portugal and Spain with opening matches in Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay being staged to mark the 100-year anniversary of the first World Cup.
Led by heralded domestic and international head coach Mano Menezes, Peru narrowly missed out on World Cup 2026 qualification in a daunting confederation featuring 2026 FIFA World Cup runners up Argentina. A 2025 debutant and current Vancouver Whitecaps FC player Kenji Cabrera leads a promising roster with emerging talents.
Chile had an exciting end to its summer campaign, defeating World Cup debutants DR Congo, 2-1 in a friendly just before the start of the tournament. La Roja is led by FC Midtjylland midfielder Dario Osorio, who scored the opening goal in the team’s latest victory.
Joining with the U.S. as one of the host countries during FIFA World Cup 2026, Mexico had an impactful tournament, playing all three group stage and both knockout matches at the Estadio Azteca. After a strong result against Ecuador and an inspired effort against England in the knockout rounds, Mexico vaulted up to 10th in the FIFA/Coca-Cola Men’s World Rankings.
Serving as the other co-host of FIFA World Cup 2026, Canada made it to the Round of 16 before getting knocked out by AFCON title holders, Morocco. Les Rouges handled South Africa in its opening knockout round game after finishing second in Group B, which featured USMNT Round of 32 opponent Bosnia and Herzegovina.

STARS AND STRIPES MEET LA BICOLOR IN ORLANDO
Through seven all-time meetings, the USMNT are 3W-2L-2D against Peru, most recently drawing on Oct. 16, 2018, in East Hartford, Conn. via a goal from Josh Sargent. The Peruvians have a storied history in the South American confederation CONMEBOL, including a Copa América title in 1975. Peru has qualified for the FIFA World Cup five times, in addition to reaching as high as 10th in the FIFA World Rankings in 2017, ahead of qualification for their most recent FIFA World Cup appearance in 2018. The teams have met in Florida once before as the USMNT secured a 1-0 victory through a Cobi Jones goal on Feb. 16, 2000, in the group stage of the Concacaf Gold Cup.
Inter.co Stadium has been a friendly venue for the USMNT, with the team holding an unblemished record at the home of Orlando City SC. Through seven matches, the USMNT holds a perfect 7W-0L-0D mark with 25 goals scored and just two allowed. In the most recent match in Orlando, the U.S. defeated Costa Rica 3-0 on Jan. 22, 2025, through goals from Brian White, Caden Clark and Patrick Agyemang.
Inter.co Stadium in Orlando is also the former home of USMNT defender Alex Freeman, who had a breakout World Cup campaign, which included scoring a decisive goal against Australia to help the U.S. clinch the top spot in its group. A homegrown player for Orlando City, Freeman spent three seasons with the first team where he earned MLS Young Player of the Year honors in 2025 before joining Spanish side Villarreal.
CHILEAN HEAT CHECK
La Roja will travel to play the U.S. for their 12th overall meeting and first since Mar. 26, 2019, a 1-1 draw in Houston, Texas through a Christian Pulisic goal. In a tightly contested series, Chile holds the edge all-time with the U.S. standing at a total record of 3W-5L-3D. Chile’s history with the U.S. dates back to July 2, 1950, when the sides met in the FIFA World Cup, a 5-2 defeat for the U.S. in Brazil. The U.S. met Chile once in a Copa América tournament on July 8, 1995, opening the competition with a 2-1 victory featuring two goals from Eric Wynalda. The USMNT went on to finish that tournament in fourth place, a joint-best finish with 2016.
The Chilean national team is a historic South American powerhouse, putting in dominant performances throughout the 2010s including back-to-back Copa América titles in 2015 and 2016.
The USMNT will return to Energizer Park in St. Louis, Mo. where the team holds a perfect 4W-0L-0D record, most recently earning a 2-1 victory against Guatemala on July 2, 2025, in the Concacaf Gold Cup. St. Louis is the hometown of Tim Ream, captain of the USMNT 2026 FIFA World Cup team
DOS A CERO IN THE DESERT
This will be the 80th meeting of the storied USA vs. Mexico rivalry. Since 2021, the U.S, holds a 5W-2L-2D advantage, including victories in the 2021 and 2024 editions of the Concacaf Nations League Finals as well as the 2021 Gold Cup championship match. Most recently, the teams met in the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup Final, a 2-1 win for the visitors. Serving as the USA’s most frequent opponent, the all-time series currently stands at 24W-38L-17D across 92 years of competition. The first iteration of the rivalry was a FIFA World Cup qualifier in 1934, a 4-2 defeat in Rome, Italy. The USA and Mexico have met at least one time throughout the past 16 years, excluding 2020. Mexico is currently ranked 10th in the world.
In the most famous encounter between the U.S. and Mexico, the USMNT defeated El Tri by a scoreline of 2-0 to eliminate them in the Round of 16 during the 2002 FIFA World Cup in Korea Republic. Led by goals from Brian McBride and Landon Donovan, the familiar phrase “Dos a Cero” was firmly solidified American in history, following two previous 2-0 results against Mexico in 2000 and again in 2001. Since 2000, the U.S. has a 19W-11L-8D record against Mexico.
The sides have met in Arizona on three separate occasions with the U.S. undefeated in all three encounters going 1W-2D-0L. The most recent matchup in Glendale resulted in a 1-1 draw on April 19, 2023, with the U.S. goal coming from Jesús Ferreira. The USMNT holds a 3W-1L-2D record overall at State Farm Stadium.
MAPLE LEAF IN MINNESOTA
The USMNT faces Canada for the first time since a 2-1 defeat in the 2025 Concacaf Nations League on March 23, 2025, in Inglewood, Calif. As one of the USA’s oldest foes, the history with Canada dates back over a centuryto 1925, when the USA fell 1-0 in Montreal, Canada. The USMNT have an overall record of 17W-12L-13D in all competitions against Les Rouges.
Canada’s 2022 and 2026 World Cup appearances mark consecutive tournament berths for the rising national team, which previously only qualified in 1986 edition. Canada’s 2026 tournament run went past through group stage before ending in the Round of 16 against Morocco.
The USA and Canada will face off in Minnesota for the first time, with the U.S. holding a 3W-0L-0D record at Allianz Field in St. Paul. The most recent matchup for the U.S. was a 4-0 victory against Oman on Sept. 12, 2023.
