U.S. Men’s National Team to Complete Successful 2026 Campaign Against Jamaica on Dec. 13 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Finale Gives MLS Players a Chance to Shine as the USMNT’s New Cycle Builds Toward the Gold Cup and World Cup Qualifiers in 2027

ATLANTA (Oct. 20, 2026) – The U.S. Men’s National Team will bring the curtain down on a successful 2026 campaign with a showdown against longtime Concacaf rival Jamaica on Sunday, Dec. 13, at Inter Miami CF Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The USMNT has opened the new cycle under head coach Mauricio Pochettino with four straight victories, and this standalone clash with the Reggae Boyz is another chance for MLS players to shine and make their case before official competition returns in 2027 with potential for three official competitions: Concacaf Nations League Finals, the Concacaf Gold Cup and the start of 2030 World Cup qualifying.
Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET. The match will be broadcast on TNT, truTV, HBO Max, Telemundo, Universo and Peacock. Radio coverage comes from Westwood One Sports in English and longtime partner Fútbol de Primera in Spanish.
Fans can follow all the action on X @USMNT, Instagram @USMNT, Facebook and the Official U.S. Soccer App.
"As we continue to build our group, this is an excellent opportunity to work with many of the MLS players and potentially see some new faces," Pochettino said. “Jamaica is the type of team we could see in upcoming tournaments including World Cup Qualifying, so it's a great opportunity and experience for these players. Of course, we love to play in Ft. Lauderdale and to have the support of the amazing fans in the area.”
Because the match falls outside a FIFA international window, the December camp is a rare chance for a host of MLS players and rising prospects to make their case in front of the coaching staff. During the USA’s perfect 4-0-0 stretch this fall, a total of nine MLS players earned their international debuts and made important contributions. With a pivotal year on the horizon, every performance counts.
This match keeps the momentum going for a USMNT cycle that began with four victories, including two against Concacaf rivals. December’s finale is the next stop ahead of the long road to the 2030 FIFA World Cup, with qualifying set to begin in 2027. That tournament will be a historic celebration of the sport’s centennial, hosted across Morocco, Portugal and Spain with special opening matches in Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay to mark 100 years since the first World Cup.

WINDOW OF OPPORTUNITY
By replacing the traditional January camp, December’s gathering continues a proud tradition of giving MLS-based players an extended look from the coaching staff and a crucial platform to make their mark. Over the years, many players have earned their first look with the USMNT at these winter camps and gone on to win a place on a World Cup roster.
Seven players on the U.S. squad at the FIFA World Cup 2026 earned their first or second cap in a January camp match: current USMNT captain Tyler Adams, forwards Brenden Aaronson and Alex Zendejas, midfielder Cristian Roldan, defenders Max Arfsten and Tim Ream, and goalkeeper Matt Turner. The list of alumni also includes five members of the 100-cap club: Jozy Altidore, DaMarcus Beasley, Carlos Bocanegra, Clint Dempsey and Landon Donovan.
USMNT vs. JAMAICA
The United States and Jamaica will meet for the first time since the USMNT’s 4-2 victory in the 2024 Concacaf Nations League quarterfinals on Nov. 18, 2024, in St. Louis, Mo. That win completed a sweep of the two-leg series and gave head coach Mauricio Pochettino his first home match and home victory in official competition. The 36th meeting between teams continues a series stretching back nearly 40 years to 1988, when the teams first met and played to a 1-1 draw in Kingston, Jamaica. The USMNT holds a 22W-3L-10D record overall against the Reggae Boyz, including a 7W-1L-2D mark in non-official matches.
WELCOME TO FORT LAUDERDALE
The USMNT returns to Fort Lauderdale for the seventh time, and this will be its first match against Jamaica in the state of Florida. The Americans are unbeaten in South Florida’s “Venice of America,” with a 5W-0L-1D record, including four matches at what was then known as Lockhart Stadium. The USMNT’s history in the city dates to 1980, when it hosted Canada and Mexico back-to-back in FIFA World Cup qualifiers, drawing the first and winning the second.
More recently, the U.S. has won both of its matches at Inter Miami CF Stadium: a 6-0 victory against El Salvador on Dec. 9, 2020, and a 3-1 win against Venezuela on Jan. 18, 2025. Three of the four USMNT wins in the most recent window also came at MLS soccer-specific stadiums.
There will be a local flavor on the other side as well. Inter Miami CF homegrown defender Ian Fray has made four appearances for the Reggae Boyz since debuting for Jamaica on Oct. 10, 2025, against Curaçao, and he could return to his home stadium wearing the opposing colors.
