U.S. Under-20 Men's National Team Closes Spain Camp With Loss to Brazil, Resilient Draw With Denmark
Ruben Ramos Scores 10 Minute Hat Trick to Erase Two-Goal Deficit Against Denmark
ATLANTA (Oct. 16, 2026) -- The U.S. Under-20 Men’s National team concluded its October international window in Spain with a 2-0 loss to Brazil and a 3-3 draw with Denmark.
The camp is part of the Federation’s continued focus on the U.S. Way philosophy, which emphasizes increased programming for Youth National Teams to create more opportunities for young players to advance through the pathway to the senior National Team with the goal of representing their country at a world championship. The window also served as preparation for the 2027 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.
Brazil 2, U.S. 0
Two second-half substitutes scored as Brazil beat the U.S. 2-0 in the team’s opener on Oct. 1.
The teams were level for 70 minutes as U.S. goalkeeper Giorgio De Marzi made five saves to keep Brazil off the board. The breakthrough came from Igor Felisberto, who entered in the 65th minute and scored in the 70th minute. Heittor, another halftime substitute, added a second goal in the 82nd minute to seal the victory for Brazil.
Brazil outshot the U.S. 12-6 with seven shots on target to the USA’s three. The U.S. had two attacks in the final third called back for offside.
U.S. 3, Denmark 3
Forward Ruben Ramos scored three goals in 10 minutes, as the U.S. came back from two goals down to draw Denmark 3-3 on Oct. 4.
Denmark took a 2-0 lead with goals from Viktor Bender in the 30th minute and Julius Emefile in the 33rd. Ramos pulled one back in the 42nd minute. Defender Pedro Guimaraes played a through ball from the left to Ramos at the top of the penalty area and Ramos finished with his left foot into the left corner as the goalkeeper came off his line.
Jonatn Lindekilde restored Denmark’s two-goal lead in the 48th minute, but Ramos responded with two goals in the next four minutes. In the 51st minute, goalkeeper Kayne Rizvanovich quickly distributed the ball to midfielder Darius Randell, who carried it down the right side through several defenders. When the ball popped back to Ramos, he hit a one-time shot from about 25 yards into the top right corner.
A minute later, Ramos completed the hat trick. After a scramble on a corner kick, the ball rolled to the far post, where Ramos was waiting unmarked. He finished from about 10 yards, sliding the ball under the Danish goalkeeper’s arm to make it 3-3 in the 52nd minute.
The U.S. outshot Denmark 10-8.
