U.S. Under-23 Women's National Team Finishes Training Camp With 6-2 Win Over the Dominican Republic as Melani Barcenas Scores Twice
Mia Fishel, Ally Sentnor, Gia Corley and Caiya Hanks Add Goals

FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. (Oct. 13, 2026) – The U.S. Under-23 Women’s National Team finished up its training camp at the Arthur M. Blank U.S. Soccer National Training Center with a 6-2 victory over full Women’s National Team of the Dominican Republic.
The USA had beaten the DR 5-0 in the first match on Oct. 9 and this time scored twice in the first half and four times in the second. Seattle Reign FC forward Mia Fishel opened the scoring just 15 minutes in, making it three goals over the two games for her, but DR tied it in the 35th minute. San Diego Wave FC midfielder Gia Corley put the USA ahead for good in the 43rd, scoring off an assist from Georgia native and North Carolina Courage midfielder Riley Jackson, for her second goal over the two matches.
San Diego Wave FC attacker Melanie Barcenas scored the first of her two goals six minutes into the second half and three minutes later, Angel City FC forward Ally Sentnor tallied from the penalty spot to make it 4-1. Three minutes after Sentnor converted, Portland Thorns FC forward Caiya Hanks scored her second goal over the two games and then Barcenas capped her brace with a goal in the 63rd. DR pulled a goal back via a U.S. own goal six minutes from time.
USWNT head coach Emma Hayes has repeatedly emphasized that at times players who are age-eligible for the U-23s will move between that team and the senior USWNT, and this roster reflects that philosophy. Seven of the players who played in this match have caps with the full U.S. Women’s National Team and nine have trained with Hayes’ squad. Of the goal scorers, Sentnor has 23 caps and seven goals for the USWNT and Fishel has three caps and one goal for the senior side.
For Sentnor, the goal was her fourth at the U-23 international level. Sentnor has scored at almost every level of the USA’s Women’s and Girls’ National Teams, tallying for the U-15s, U-16s, U-17s, U-18s, U-20s, U-23s and the full National Team.
