CHICAGO (March 4, 2021)— The dates and locations for 2021 U.S. Soccer C License courses have been finalized. These courses will be organized and hosted by U.S. Soccer member organizations across the country. Applicants can register through the U.S. Soccer Learning Center and directly contact the hosting member organization for more information.

This year marks the largest number of planned C License courses to date. There are 57 courses planned for 2021, organized by 39 members in 37 states.

“We’re extremely excited to support members in planning these courses,” said Karla Thompson, technical lead for the U.S. Soccer C License course. “It is an ambitious number of courses and it will involve a great number of instructors, mentors and organizational support from our members. We look forward to working with the coaching candidates and guiding them through the process.”

The C License course covers tasks such as coaching training sessions, coaching games, leading the player, leading the team, managing the performance environment and more.

COVID-19 safety is the priority for U.S. Soccer Coaching Education and many of this year’s C License courses will begin virtually due to the ongoing conditions of the pandemic. When it’s safe for in-person courses to resume, members will follow safety protocols to ensure the well-being of all participants.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have held a U.S. Soccer D License for at least one year (or meet the waiver guidelines) and currently be coaching. Candidates will have the opportunity to earn a nationally-recognized license from U.S. Soccer, the governing body of soccer in all its forms in the United States.
