Deaf MNT Falls 4-0 to Germany in Precursor to Sunday’s Doubleheader with USWNT
Deaf MNT Back in Action for USA-Germany, Presented by Volkswagen, on Sunday, Oct. 26 at Pratt & Whitney Stadium in East Hartford, Conn.
FARMINGTON, Conn. (October 24, 2025) – The U.S. Men’s Deaf National Team fell 4-0 to Germany on Friday in the first of two international friendlies between the two sides this week.
The teams will next play the first game of a doubleheader with the U.S. Women’s National Team on Sunday, Oct. 26 at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, Conn. Kickoff of USA-Germany, presented by Volkswagen is set for 1 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on truTV, HBO Max and Telemundo Deportes Ahora.
The match marked the international debut for four U.S. players – Ethan Sullivan, Joseph Kennedy Jr., Philip Cruz and Stanley Odoms Jr.
Starting goalkeeper Sullivan made eight total saves, including shutting down Germany’s Robin Bayer on a one-on-one opportunity in the 23rd minute. Five minutes later, the USA goalkeeper made back-to-back saves, laying out to turn away an effort from Nicolas Wojciak, before reacting well to Stefan Krieg’s rebound.
Germany finally broke through in the 36th minute as Bayer latched onto a through pass before centering for Krieg who beat Sullivan at the near post to give Germany a 1-0 lead
Halftime substitute Steven Nowark set up Kevin Gaul on Germany’s second goal in the 47th minute and Wojciak made it 3-0 for the visitors in the 50th.
The U.S. had better moments in attack and threatened the German goal later on in the half, but Nowark added one of his own in second-half stoppage time to give the visitors a 4-0 win.

- Germany moves to 5W-0L-0D in the all-time series which dates back to 2012.
