Beach WNT will play Brazil, Mexico, Japan in quest for second tournament title; Beach MNT will face Portugal, Mexico, Paraguay

The U.S. Women’s and Men’s Beach Soccer National Teams are set to compete in the 2026 BSWW Acapulco Beach Soccer Cup, one of the teams’ biggest tournaments of the year, from April 9-11 in Acapulco, Mexico.
Ahead of the games this week, here’s everything you need to know about the tournament:
The 2026 BSWW Acapulco Beach Soccer Cup is the third edition of the tournament that hosts some of the top ranked teams in the world in an event organized by Beach Soccer Worldwide.
Paraguay and Portugal in the men’s tournament and Brazil and Japan in the women’s competition will join hosts Mexico and the USA, who both will present their men’s and women’s national teams. Each team will compete in three matches at Arena GNP Seguros.
The Beach WNT won the 2023 Acapulco Beach Soccer Cup before claiming second place in 2024. The Beach MNT finished third in both previous editions of the tournament. Spain was crowned champions in both the men’s and women’s tournaments last year, while Colombia won on the men’s side in 2023.
Thursday, April 9
Friday, April 10
Saturday, April 11
All women’s matches will be broadcast live via the All Women’s Sports Network. All men's matches will be broadcast for free via BeachSoccerTV.com.
U.S. Women’s Beach Soccer National Team head coach Morgan Church last week selected a 12-player roster for the tournament. The roster features four players – Gabby Batmani, Jeané Sunseri-Warp, Ali Hall and Hannah Adler – who were a part of the 2023 championship squad. Ten of the 12 players on the 2026 roster were also part of the USA’s friendly series away to the Bahamas in January.
U.S. Men’s Beach Soccer National Team head coach Marcelo Mendes also named a 12-player roster for this year's Acapulco Beach Soccer Cup. Eleven of the 12 players return from the squad that took part in the Paraiba World Beach Games last month in Joao Pessoa, Brazil. Antonio Chavez, Alvaro Franco, Andres Navas and Cody Valcarcel are the four players on the roster who competed in both previous editions of the Acapulco Beach Soccer Cup.
Earlier this year, the U.S. Women’s Beach Soccer National Team completed a three-game sweep of the Bahamas in Nassau. The Beach WNT’s first-ever friendlies saw the team open with a 6-1 win on January 25, followed by a 10-0 victory the following day, before closing out with a 4-0 win on January 27.
The Beach MNT recently competed in the Paraiba World Beach Games, where it fell in both matches against Japan and in a tightly contested 8-6 loss to seven-time FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup champions Brazil.
