SAN RAFAEL, Costa Rica (March 17, 2026) – The U.S. U-17 Women’s Youth National Team opened itsthree-game schedule in Group B at the Final Round of the Concacaf Women’s U-17 Qualifiers with a dominating 19-0 victory over Bermuda as forward Deus Stanislaus scored four times while midfielder Taylor Morrell and forward Mak Whitham each had a hat trick.
The USA now faces Haiti on March 19 (5 p.m. ET / 3 p.m. local) and then finishes the competition on March 22 against Puerto Rico (12:06 p.m. ET / 10:06 p.m. local). In the other Group B match, Puerto Rico took down Haiti, 3-1.
This is the second year of the new Concacaf qualifying format for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup. Last year, the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup began its run of being staged annually and expanded from 16 to 24 nations. Therefore, instead of a qualifying tournament in which the top three Concacaf finishers advance to the U-17 Women’s World Cup, 12 teams were drawn into three groups of four teams each with the winner of each group and the best second place team qualifying for the World Cup, set for the fall in Morocco.
The U.S. U-17s wasted no time proving why they are the group favorite while taking one huge step towards Morrocco. The young Americans opened the scoring just after the two-minute mark as Stanislaus tapped home a shot off a pass from Morrell. The USA doubled its lead two minutes later as forward Amari Manning finished off a rebound from a Loradana Paletta shot that the goalkeeper couldn’t hold. Three minutes later, Manning bagged her brace off a nice pass into the penalty area from Morrell, and the match was pretty much over with more than 80 minutes to play.
Stanislaus earned her brace in the 17th minute off a cross from Manning on the left. After assisting two of the first three goals, Morrell got one of her own in the 27th, smartly finishing a cross from DiMaria that came from the right end line. Morrell completed her brace in the 38th minute, finishing into lower left corner after she was released into the penalty area with a nice pass from Paletta.
The USA started the second half the same way it started the first, with three quick goals, and DiMaria, perhaps anxious to get in on the goal scoring after seeing her forward line mates score four times in the first half, had an assist and two goals before eight minutes had elapsed after the break. The first goal of the second half came in the 47th minute when DiMaria raced in from the right flank and crossed to a crashing Mia Corona, who scored from close range despite taking a knock from a Bermuda defender. DiMaria then scored twice, firing a shot from 16 yards out with her left foot into the right corner in the 49th before notching her brace with another goal the 52nd.
Stanislaus brought the USA to double figures in the 53rd after she picked off a pass in the back with Corona then putting her through on goal for her third score of the day. Three minutes later, Morrell scored the best goal of the afternoon, bending her shot into the upper right corner from outside the penalty area. Stanislaus then bagged her fourth in the 58th.
Paletta, who buzzed around the field for the first 60 minutes before being subbed off, got her goal in the 59th minute. Whitham then scored the next two, in the 69th and 78th to hit 15 goals. Substitute defender Giselle Aguilar scored her second career goal at the U-17 level in the 83rd while substitute midfielder Jordyn Heathcock bagged her first in the 84th.
Gotham FC’s Witham, the only professional player on the roster, completed her hat trick in the 86th and Hanf scored the 19th and final goal in the 87th.
The USA spent almost the entire match in its attacking half as Bermuda defended gamely, but they could do nothing to staunch the attack of a much more athletic and skillful U.S. side, while U.S. goalkeeper Alexis Fischer picked up the shoutout without facing a shot on goal. Fischer’s excitement came on two plays in which she got into big collisions, the first one when she came far out of the goal to clear a through ball and crashed into a Bermuda forward, for which the U.S. ‘keeper received a yellow card. Fischer received a cut to her head when a Bermuda player stepped on her as the two collided in the penalty area on a rare foray in the attacking third for the side.
In the end, the USA took care of business, earned three points and drew one step closer to a World Cup berth.
