JT Batson
CEO and Secretary General
Bio
JT Batson is the CEO and Secretary General of the U.S. Soccer Federation. Since joining the Federation in September 2022, he has spearheaded several critical initiatives to grow and strengthen the game throughout the U.S.
JT was the driving force behind the Arthur M. Blank U.S. Soccer National Training Center, designed to fuel the long-term competitiveness of our country’s soccer program for generations to come. JT oversaw several key personnel hires, including leading the search for Sporting Director Matt Crocker and supporting the hiring processes for USWNT coach Emma Hayes and USMNT coach Mauricio Pochettino. As the United States prepares to co-host the FIFA Men’s World Cup in 2026, JT has led the effort to shore up resources and engagement for host cities.
Beyond his national-level work, JT has placed a substantial emphasis on improving the Federation’s community-level engagement. He has pushed for greater transparency and visibility into Federation activity for membership organizations across the country and was instrumental in increasing Innovate to Grow grants.
Under his leadership, U.S. Soccer has made significant progress on its accelerated initiatives – the strategic priorities guiding the organization’s investment in key growth areas:
- Grow the Game – Expanding access to the game beyond its traditional boundaries by investing in our Extended National Teams (ENTs) through the ADAPTandThrive Leadership Course and funding Innovate to Grow grants that expand access to soccer for underserved communities.
- Foster the Best Playing Environments – Licensing thousands of new coaches across the country, expanding the United Officials Group to support referee development and retention, and developing the Safe Soccer Clearance Program to ensure all participants have access to safe, fun, inclusive soccer experiences.
- Develop Winning Teams – Building a winning culture across all 27 U.S. National Teams – including the USMNT, USWNT, USYNTs, and our ENTs – and investing in the coaches, staff, and resources needed to win at every level.
- Grow the Soccer Economy to Fuel Reinvestment – Safeguarding the financial future of the game by bringing in major corporate partners and negotiating media deals that have increased viewership significantly.
- Create a World-Class Organization – Advancing U.S. Soccer as a professional organization, hiring exemplary staff and investing in our team culture to ensure we are operating at the highest level, and engaging closely with members across the country to develop the organization at every level.
JT has been a lifelong soccer supporter, playing for Augusta Arsenal as a kid in Georgia and later serving as a referee and a referee assignor, mowing and lining fields and working in coaching recruitment.
