Bio

Lisa M. Buckingham is U.S.Soccer's chief human resources officer where she is responsible with championing an inclusive organizational culture and employee experience and implementing strong talent retention strategies while developing a robust high-performance culture.

Before joining U.S. Soccer Lisa was president of ElligGroup, an executive search and leadership advisory firm based in New York City.

Prior to that she served as chief people, place and brand officer for Lincoln Financial. During her tenure she was responsible for all human resources practices and policies and for overseeing the corporation's brand and advertising, enterprise communications, consumer insights and corporate social responsibility activities, as well as foundation, facilities, aviation, and corporate strategic real estate areas. Lisa also led Lincoln's business continuity and enterprise crisis management initiatives.

Lisa began her career in retail where she forged a foundation in human resources with deep labor relations experience.

Prior to joining Lincoln, she held several executive level positions in human resources and organizational development at Thomson Reuters where her accomplishments were rooted in the company's technology transformation from print to digital and offshoring to further streamline the organization’sinternal and external experience and drive global efficiencies.

Lisa earned her bachelor's degree from Georgetown University. Her areas of passion include board engagement, organizational development, total rewards strategies, culture, diversity, inclusion & belonging, digital transformation, artificial Intelligence for improving experience, change management, branding, wellness, engagement, and strategic communications.

Lisa is an inducted fellow of the National Academy of Human Resources and serves as a vice chair of the NAHR Foundation. She serves as a board member and investment chair of the Philadelphia Eagles Charitable Foundation as well as a board member and chair of the compensation committee for 4C Digital Health.
